New World Records is a record label based in New York City specialising in American music. The label was established in 1975 through a Rockefeller Foundation grant to produce a 100 disc anthology covering 200 years of American music.[1]

New World Records has released over 400 albums by a variety of artists with diverse musical backgrounds, including, but not limited to traditional music, jazz, classical music popular song and experimental composition.

Notable releases in the label's catalogue include two critically regarded albums by avant-garde jazz pianist Cecil Taylor (Cecil Taylor Unit & 3 Phasis - both released in 1978) and the Grammy Award winning releases of Samuel Barber's opera Antony and Cleopatra in 1984, Leonard Bernstein's operetta Candide in 1986 and Ned Rorem's symphonic works String Symphony/Sunday Morning/Eagles in 1989.

NWR's CRI and CRL catalog was transferred to the digital domain by George Blood Audio and Video Philadelphia, PA from 2006 to 2010.
