University of Wisconsin–MadisonGordon N. Hintz is a Democratic Party member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 54th Assembly District since his election in 2006.
On February 10, 2011, Hintz was cited in connection with a prostitution investigation involving an Appleton massage parlor. Hintz was cited with violating an ordinance which prohibits paying or receiving "a fee, directly or indirectly, or to offer or ask for anything of value, for touching or offering to touch the sexual parts of another."[1]
During the 2011 Wisconsin budget protests on February 18, 2011, Hintz delivered an impassioned and widely commented on speech against Republican Governor Scott Walker's plan to strip public unions of collective bargaining rights.[2][3][4][5]
Hintz publicly apologized on February 28 for comments directed at fellow legislator, Republican Assemblywoman Michelle Litjens, in which he shouted, "You're fucking dead".[6] Hintz characterized his "outburst" as a stunned reaction to Republicans allegedly breaking procedural rules to end a 58-hour debate on the contentious budget. Litjens said she did not take the comments personally and thought they were directed at all Republicans but thought he should be disciplined by the Assembly.[7]
Other
Hintz placed second in the 2003 National Air Guitar championships under the pseudonym, "Krye Tuff".[8] He appears in the documentary Air Guitar Nation about the 2003 championships.
