Lockington (originally founded as Locksport [cite web|format=PDF|url=http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/water/canals/MEcanalbooklet.pdf|chapter=Locksport|title=Travel back in time: Discover Ohio’s Miami and Erie Canal|pages=22|publisher=Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Water|date=] ) is a village in Washington Township, Shelby County, Ohio, United States, along Loramie Creek. The population was 208 at the 2000 census.

Located along the old Miami and Erie Canal, Lockington gets its name because it was the site of a canal lock. It sat at the junction of the main canal with a feeder coming from Port Jefferson and Sidney.

History

The main throughway is Miami Conservency Road which becomes Piqua-Lockington Road in neighboring Miami County where a suburban neighborhood for Lockington exists on the adjacent Landman Mill Road.
