Thevenard (coord|32|08|S|133|39|E|region:AU-SA_type:x , postcode 5690) is a port town 3km east of Ceduna, South Australia. It is named after nearby Cape Thevenard, which in turn had been named after Antoine-Jean-Marie, comte Thévenard a French admiral.
The port at Thevenard, handles bulk grain, gypsum and salt. Thevenard is on the isolated Eyre Peninsula railway network, and receives several trains daily of bulk gypsum from the Kevin mine near Penong.
Thevenard is in the District Council of Ceduna local government area, the South Australian House of Assembly electoral district of Flinders and the Australian House of Representatives Division of Grey.
