Music
Charlie Wadhams emerged as a musician in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, in 2002 with his band Rex Aquarium. [1] Through Sea Level Records they recorded and distributed two albums in 2004 and in 2005, Privacy and The Back Of The Room. [2]. The song "Alicia" was named one of top ten songs to play in Elle Magazine in the summer of 2005. [3]
In 2006 Wadhams went solo and played with various back up musicians in Los Angeles. Wadhams opened for Daniel Johnston at The Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood [4] and toured with Inara George and her band The Bird and the Bee. By chance music producer and composer Michael Andrews saw Wadhams play in Los Feliz and pulled bassist Gus Seyffert and drummer Joey Waronker into his studio. Andrews produced Wadhams's album Free Up Your Schedule with Elgin Park Recordings (2007) [5].
An offer from director Jake Kasdan to write music for the Judd Apatow film Walk Hard followed. [6] Wadhams penned the tunes "Let's Duet" with musician Benji Hughes and "Guilty As Charged" with Seyffert. "Let's Duet" was a contender for Best Song in a Motion Picture by the AMPAS (2008). [7].
