Mong Pan Township

Mong Pan Township is a township of Loilen District in the Shan State of Myanmar. The principal town is Mong Pan.

To the south it borders Mae Hong Son Province in Thailand and lies west of the Salween River.

Originally, Mong Pan was one of the many smaller states that made up the Shan region of Myanmar, but later became the Shan State. It had a total area of 2,299 square miles (5,950 km2). In the center lies a large fertile plain, but is surrounded by many valleys and hills which reach a height of 5,000 feet (1,500 m) and are covered with jungle.
