Ellenville is a village in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 4,130 at the 2000 census. The postal ZIP code is 12428; the telephone exchange is predominantly 647 and an overlayed 210 in the 845 area code. The Village of Ellenville is within the Town of Wawarsing. The village is located at the junction of NY 52 and US 209.

It was the fourth community featured on ABC's television show, "My Kind of Town", on September 4, 2005. The town post office and the George and John R. Hunt Memorial Building are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The Joseph Y Resnick Airport (N89) is northeast of the village.

History

The first building was erected in the community around 1805, but by 1823 there were only about 4 houses in the village. The Village of Ellenville was incorporated in 1838. Actor Jim Conroy was born here in 1971.

Education

Ellenville is served by Ellenville High School, a grades 9-12 school.
