Boston and Maine Railroad Depot ) is a commuter rail station in Reading on the Reading/Haverhill Line serviced by theMBCR , a branch of theMBTA . This was the former terminus of this line before it was then extended to Haverhill. The original intention of theMBTA was to cease Commuter Rail Services on this line and replace it with an extension of the Orange Line from Oak Grove to Reading with all the former commuter rail stations and one new station called 128/Reading. This idea was shot down by people who desired the commuter rail instead.
