Golf course

A good descriptor for the community is "resort-style" living. This lifestyle begins with the golf course.

The development was built around an 18 hole championship golf course located at 7101 Highland Creek Parkway Charlotte, NC 28269. The Highland Creek Golf Club is a public course and accepts members. The clubhouse includes a proshop, and a restaurant, "The Player's Grille."

Spread throughout the course are five lakes creating water features for thirteen holes.

In addition to the 18-hole Highland Creek Golf Club, the master planned subdivision includes the following amenities:

Five swimming pools:
*Prosperity Park Pool
*Christenbury Pool
*Clarke Creek Pool
*The Sports Club - 2 pools including water slides and a shallow "kiddie" pool

Highland Creek has six tennis courts:
*Prosperity Park Tennis Courts
*Falcon Ridge Tennis Courts

The Sports Club has a Fitness Center and community gathering area that's used for such occasions as receptions, martial arts instruction and massages. There are several basketball and volleyball courts in the neighborhood and a park that's used for outdoor movies in the spring and summer.

Highland Creek employs a private security firm, Securitas, to patrol the subdivision.

The annual homeowners' association dues are $528.00 as of 6/22/07. The average annual HOA for area neighborhoods with substantially similar amenities is $929.00 as of 6/22/07.

The community features an elementary school which opened in 2006. Highland Creek Elementary School serves area children from grades K through 5. The facility includes over 50 acres and provides students with nearly 40 classrooms, several learning cottages, a state of the art media center and computer lab, with an art room with a kiln and a music room.
