accessdate=2007-03-18] As of thecensus GR|2 of 2000, there were 3,742 people, 1,289 households, and 964 families residing in the CDP. Thepopulation density was 2,833.1 people per square mile (1,094.5/km²). There were 1,358 housing units at an average density of 1,028.2/sq mi (397.2/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.70% White, 1.28% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.43% Asian, 1.15% from other races, and 1.26% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.95% of the population.There were 1,289 households out of which 38.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.7% were married couples living together, 12.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.2% were non-families. 21.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.39.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 27.4% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 94.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.1 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $53,864, and the median income for a family was $63,375. Males had a median income of $45,565 versus $30,244 for females. The
per capita income for the CDP was $21,369. About 8.6% of families and 10.5% of the population were below thepoverty line , including 15.3% of those under age 18 and 12.3% of those age 65 or over.References
