Thepopulation density was 1,109.3 people per square mile (427.3/km²). There were 847 housing units at an average density of 385.9/sq mi (148.6/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 94.00% White, 2.79% African American, 0.41% Native American, 1.07% Asian, 0.74% from other races, and 0.99% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.38% of the population.There were 829 households out of which 36.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.3% were married couples living together, 9.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.8% were non-families. 16.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.28.
In the borough the population was spread out with 25.3% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 26.0% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 98.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.6 males.
The median income for a household in the borough was $57,326, and the median income for a family was $63,864. Males had a median income of $43,182 versus $30,807 for females. The

Local government
Gibbsboro is governed under the Borough form of New Jersey municipal government. The government consists of a Mayor and a Borough Council comprising six council members, with all positions elected at large. A Mayor is elected directly by the voters to a four-year term of office.
