Sprague is a village in Lancaster County, Nebraska, United States. It is part of the Lincoln, Nebraska Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 146 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Sprague is located at coor dms|40|37|31|N|96|44|44|W|city (40.625415, -96.745478)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 146 people, 59 households, and 42 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,164.9 people per square mile (433.6/km²). There were 60 housing units at an average density of 478.7/sq mi (178.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.58% White, 0.68% Native American, 1.37% from other races, and 1.37% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.37% of the population.

There were 59 households out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.7% were married couples living together, 1.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.8% were non-families. 20.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.86.

In the village the population was spread out with 21.9% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 34.2% from 25 to 44, 23.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 84.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.9 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $40,000, and the median income for a family was $40,000. Males had a median income of $33,750 versus $22,000 for females. The per capita income for the village was $20,203. There were none of the families and 2.8% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 8.3% of those over 64.
