United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 0.6square mile s (1.5km² ), all of it land.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 220 people, 94 households, and 64 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 394.6 people per square mile (151.7/km²). There were 113 housing units at an average density of 202.7/sq mi (77.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 56.36% White, 42.73% African American, 0.45% Asian, and 0.45% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.27% of the population.There were 94 households out of which 26.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% were married couples living together, 13.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.9% were non-families. 29.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 20.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 2.88.
In the town the population was spread out with 22.7% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 25.9% from 25 to 44, 18.6% from 45 to 64, and 25.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 91.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.9 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $25,625, and the median income for a family was $45,625. Males had a median income of $22,083 versus $12,396 for females. The
