Chair and 2008 presidential campaign controversies
In November 2007 The New York Daily News reported that Stacey Cargill, the leader of the anti-gambling organization One Voice (Iowa), and a figure in Iowa Republican Party politics criticized Republican presidential nomination candidate Rudy Giuliani over his repeated leasing of Gulfstream IV jets from Sheldon Adelson. [1] Adelson is the CEO of the Las Vegas Sands enterprise.[2] In the summer of 2007, alone, Giuliani paid Adelson $122,000 for the use of Gulfstream jets.[3]
