Indiana ,United States .Peterson, Indiana was named after an ancestor of mine, Robert S. Peterson. Robert was an officer in the Union Army, during the Civil War. He later became city attorney for the town of Decatur, Indiana.
Robert was instrumental in obtaining rights-of-way for the railroads in that part of Indiana, hence the town was named after him.
