History
Marquis Jet Partners, Inc. was founded in June 2001 by Kenny Dichter and Jesse Itzler. Marquis Jet developed the fractional jet card concept, which allows cardholders to purchase flight time on a fractional-aircraft-ownership fleet without the long-term commitment of fractional ownership itself, and thus without a large capital outlay or monthly management fees. They discovered a "working wealthy" niche market that was seeking to fly privately to have greater control of their own schedules and to save time as their demands for business and personal travel increased. But this niche market did not necessarily have the money, the travel needs, or the desire to justify ownership and management of a complete aircraft or a fractional aircraft share.
The company was acquired by NetJets, Inc. on November 3, 2010.
There are currently 3,500 Marquis Jet Card Owners who each fly approximately 25–50 hours annually.
Marquis Jet's main office is located in New York, New York with other offices in Boston, Massachusetts, Chicago, Illinois and Santa Monica, California.
