Otero Junior College is a community college located in La Junta, Colorado, USA.

Founded in 1941, Otero Junior College is located on an attractive 40-acre campus on the southern edge of La Junta, Colorado.

Otero Junior College is proud of its reputation as one of the finest community colleges in the State of Colorado. Over 97 percent of Otero Junior College students are employed upon graduation or go on to continue their education at 4-year colleges or universities.

Supported by state tax dollars, tuition at OJC is affordable. Many students attending OJC qualify for financial assistance in the form of scholarships, grants, student loans and on-campus work-study jobs. OJC is a full-service campus with modern dorms, library, classrooms and state-of-the-art technology.

The college sponsors over a dozen student organizations including a nationally awarded Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and an International Relations organization that celebrates and promotes cultural diversity on the campus. The OJC Rattlers varsity athletic programs include Women’s Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, and Golf. Men’s varsity sports include Basketball, Baseball, and Golf.

Sport

The college has a baseball program that was founded in 1965. They won back to back regional championships in 1975-76 and 1976-77.

The college also won or shared the Empire Conference football championships in 1958 and 1959.

Koshare Indian Museum

The Koshare Indian Museum, featuring a collection of Native American artifacts, and the Koshare Indian Dancers, are housed on the campus of Otero Junior College.
