Population centres
The municipality of De Bilt consists of the following cities, towns, villages and/or districts: Bilthoven, De Bilt, Groenekan, Hollandsche Rading, Maartensdijk, Westbroek. The communities of Maartensdijk and Westbroek are orthodox Christian communities in which the SGP gathers many votes.
The town De Bilt
De Bilt (population as of 2001[update]: 14,800) is the seat of the headquarters of the Royal Dutch Meteorological Institute, KNMI.
It is the ancestral home and namesake for the prominent United States Vanderbilt family.
