Ethamivan (Etamivan, Analepticon) is a respiratory stimulant drug [Hirsh K, Wang SC. Respiratory stimulant effects of ethamivan and picrotoxin. "Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics". 1975 May;193(2):657-63.] related to nikethamide. It was mainly used in the treatment of barbiturate overdose [Wheeldon PJ, Perry AW.
