Siberia, California

Siberia is a disappeared town in the Mojave Desert of San Bernardino County, California, United States. It lies along the former U.S. Route 66 between Bagdad and Ludlow, in the ZIP code 92357 and area code 760.

Siberia was a water stop and a rail siding for the Santa Fe Railroad. Since 2001, all traces of the town have been removed. [ [http://www.theroadwanderer.net/RT66ludlow.htm "Ludlow Area & Mojave Desert"] at the theroadwanderer.net ]

The site was however the setting for a 1992 comedy-drama movie "Siberia (movie)" about low-income residents struggle to live simple in a trailer park in the middle of the Mojave desert.
