MND is the largest oil and gas producing company in the Czech Republic producing 5,000 barrels (790 m³) of oil per day and 250,000 m³ of gas per day. It also has storage facilities of 180 million m³.

The company operates gas fields in Germany, Pakistan, Romania, Yemen, Sudan, Morocco, Russia and Ukraine. In Pakistan MND is a partner with OMV and has a share in Sawan Gas Field.

In September 2007 MND signed a contract with Regal Petroleum to buy a 50% stake in a major Ukrainian gas field for US$ 330 million.
