Ann Holmes Redding

Ann Holmes Redding

Ann Holmes Redding or The Reverend Ann Holmes Redding (born 1952) was a priest in a Seattle church who considers herself both Muslim and Christian. Her claims sparked a controversy and confusion among the Muslim and Christian communities. She stated that being both a Muslim and Christian is like being both an African American and woman. Furthermore, according to her, she can practise both faiths 100 percent. She was inhibited by the Rt. Rev. Geralyn Wolf of the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island, which has disciplinary authority over Redding, and was placed on a 12-month forced leave for the first time in the 23 years of Redding's service.
