The International MBA program (simplified Chinese: 国际经营管理硕士; traditional Chinese: 國際經營管理碩士; pinyin: Guójì Jīngyín Guǎnlǐ Shuòshì; abbreviated IMBA) at National Chengchi University College of Commerce was established in 2001 and was the first International MBA program in Taiwan. It is the first fully accredited English-taught MBA program in Taiwan, Republic of China.

Program design

The IMBA program offers candidates both full-time or part-time studies. This flexible design of courses allows candidates to decide their workload and schedule to accommodate their busy careers. Most classes are conducted in the evenings and weekends. The program also has ample courses and activities to keep full-time International MBA candidate well involved in their studies.

The IMBA program requires a minimum of 42 credits to graduate. Students can normally complete all their courses in 2 years while they can extend their studies to a maximum of 5 years to fulfill all requirements.There are two components to the curriculum: the required courses and the elective courses. The first account for 22 credits out 42 credits required to graduate.

The program also offers the option of either pursuing a General MBA or a Specialized MBA in one of four concentrations namely, Management in Asia, Finance, Marketing, and International Business.

Elective courses

Elective courses fall under four areas of concentration. Students have an option to complete a number of the courses in the relevant area to obtain a Specialized MBA degree. Students can also take up courses under any area and graduate with a General MBA by fulfilling the credit requirements.

Faculty

Instructors of the IMBA program are drawn from the large pool faculty members from the entire College of Commerce, which comprises 8 departments, 10 institutions and 21 national-level research centers. In all, there are over 140 outstanding professors who have earned Ph.D. degree from the world-renowned universities.

Apart from its own college faculty, the program further invites senior executives and renowned scholars from top overseas business schools as visiting instructors.

International student exchange program

To further assist students in facing challenges in international business environment, International MBA offers students exchange programs with top leading universities in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Pacific. School's international recognition by AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) has made it possible to establish reciprocal exchange programs with over 30 prestigious schools worldwide. Spending one term abroad at another institution allows students to further enrich studies by experiencing different cultural and business environments.

Career development

The graduates of NCCU International MBA program are highly employable and sought after by the local and international business communities.^{[citation needed]}

The College of Commerce has established the Office of Students Affairs (OSA) that offers a variety of services for students:

• Counseling students on career development. OSA provides services and resources that support their candidacy with graduate programs and employers.
• Facilitating the collaboration between the academic and business circles: OSA seeks internships and project opportunities from enterprises for students to practice the business concepts and methods. Currently, the source of internships and projects primarily comes from the companies, in which IMBA and EMBA (Executive MBA) students are working. The International MBA program is keen on developing relationships with bona fide employers who provide part-time, summer, temporary, developmental, and professional employment opportunities for students and graduates.
• Providing services to alumni: OSA issues Chengchi College of Commerce Quarterly for alumni to update them on the latest development of the College.

Continuing education

In addition to offering business courses within program, the IMBA offers an integrated system of continuing education with the facilities and resources of the college. The program allows for both current IMBA candidates and graduates to enroll in selected courses within program and throughout the College of Commerce on non-matriculating basis to broaden their studies. Also, the IMBA program encourages prospective candidates to audit courses.
