Cityplace Center is a 42-story building located at 2711 North Haskell Avenue at North Central Expressway (US 75) in the Cityplace district of Uptown Dallas, Texas (USA). The building is convert|560|ft|m|0 tall and has convert|1400000|sqft|m2|-4 of office space.

About

The building, which housed the corporate headquarters for 7-Eleven, has a pink Brazilian granite façade and sits on a convert|10|acre|m2|-2|sing=on site that contains four retail sites and an underground parking garage. Cityplace Station, a DART light rail station is located beneath it with entrances on both side of the expressway. Construction costs for the building were upwards of US$300 million.

History

The building was designed by Cossutta & Associates of New York. Completed in 1988, the tower was the first phase of Southland Corporation's (now 7-Eleven) 130 acre (526,000 m²) Cityplace development. A twin tower was originally planned across North Central Expressway, connected by a skybridge. There were also several low to mid-rise buildings surrounding the two. Several blocks were demolished in the mid-80's to make way for the city within a city. After the Savings and Loan crisis and resulting real estate crash in Dallas, plans for finishing the development fell through. In 1989, Southland sold land on the west side of North Central Expressway to Cityplace, which today is home to the West Village.
