Toowoomba Regional Council is a Local Government Area in Queensland, Australia. The Local Government Area was created in March 2008 as a result of the report of the Local Government Reform Commission released in July 2007. The new Council, located in the Darling Downs, contains the entire area of eight former Local Government Areas;
*City of Toowoomba;
*Shire of Cambooya;
*Shire of Clifton;
*Shire of Crows Nest;
*Shire of Jondaryan;
*Shire of Millmerran;
*Shire of Pittsworth; and
*Shire of Rosalie.
The report recommended that the new local government area should not be divided into wards and elect ten councillors and a mayor. The Toowoomba Regional Council covers an area of convert|12973|km2|sqmi|0|lk=on, contain an estimated resident population in 2006 of 151,283 and have an estimated operating budget of AUD162m.The Regional Council will cover the city of Toowoomba and the towns of Cambooya, Cecil Plains, Clifton, Crows Nest, Goombungee, Gowrie Junction, Greenmount, Haden, Hampton, Highfields, Meringandan, Millmerran, Nobby, Oakey, Pittsworth, Wyreema Westbrook and Yarraman.
