Blackall-Tambo Regional Council is a proposed Local Government Area in Queensland, Australia. The Local Government Area will be created in March 2008 as a result of the report of the Local Government Reform Commission released in July 2007. The new Council, located in western Queensland, will contain the entire area of two existing Local Government Areas;
*Shire of Blackall; and
*Shire of Tambo.
The new council was first proposed as the Blackall Regional Council, later changed to the Blackall-Tambo Regional Council. The report recommends that the new local government area should not be divided into wards and elect four councillors and a mayor. The Blackall-Tambo Regional Council will cover an area of convert|30489|km2|sqmi|0|lk=on, contain an estimated resident population in 2006 of 2,236 and have an estimated operating budget of AUD12.8m.
The Regional Council will cover the towns of Blackall and Tambo.
