Oakville, OntarioResidence Huntington Beach, CA Occupation Professional Skateboarder Height 6'1" Weight 160 Lb Mark Appleyard (born on November 11, 1982, in Oakville, Ontario)[1] is a professional skateboarder. He currently resides in Huntington Beach, California.[2] He is 6'1", 160 pounds, has a size 11 foot, and his skateboarding stance is goofy. Appleyard is known for his technical skating. His favorite trick is a backside smith grind.[3]
He began skateboarding at the age of 10 [4] and grew up skating Hamilton's Beasley Bowl (a park that Mark was so fond of he recently had its name tattooed on his leg). Appleyard also eventually started hitting the streets of Toronto. He also attended Lord Elgin High School in Burlington and is still a role model to many locals.
In 2003 Mark was Thrasher skater of the year.
Mark also has a skate park named after him in the Cayman Islands, when he bumped into an architect building a skate park for his son. Mark gave him a couple of pointers[citation needed].
He is known for his smooth style and laid back personality[citation needed].
Mark recently quit long-time sponsor Flip Skateboards for new board sponsor Element skateboards.
