Elias & Wake, 1983Nyctanolis pernix, also commonly referred to as Long-limbed Salamander is a species of salamander in the Plethodontidae family, which is characterized by its absence of lungs; it instead achieve respiration through its skin and the tissues lining the mouth. It is monotypic within the genus Nyctanolis.[citation needed] It is found in Guatemala and Mexico. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montanes. It is threatened by habitat loss.
