PoliticianReligion Hinduism Dinesh Trivedi (born 4 June 1950) is an Indian politician from All India Trinamool Congress is a Member of Parliament of the 15th Lok Sabha representing the Barrackpore (Lok Sabha constituency), West Bengal. A graduate in commerce from St. Xavier's College, Calcutta and an M.B.A. from the The University of Texas at Austin.[1] He is currently the Minister for Railways.
Trivedi is also the General Secretary of All India Trinamool Congress. He is also the Chairman of the Indo-European Union Parliamentary Forum (IEUPF), established on 2 April 2005.
He has been actively fighting criminalization in politics. He has filed several public interest litigations including Vohra Committee (The Right to Information Act is a fall out of his petiton on Vohra Committee)[2].
