Schmidt, 1927The Upland Coqui, Coqui De La Montaña, or Coqui De Montaña (Eleutherodactylus portoricensis) is a species of frog in the Leptodactylidae family. It is endemic to Puerto Rico. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montanes. It is one of the only two species to actually emit the sound "coqui", the other one being the common coqui. Above its eye, this species has a white half moon, and in his belly, its has dark brown spots. These characteristics make him easier to identify.
