The part between the I-95 overpass and the Delaware River will become I-95 once thePennsylvania Turnpike/Interstate 95 Interchange Project is finished; the New Jersey side is already designated I-95, but it is not signed as such. The highway, originally designated as Interstate 280 when the Pennsylvania Turnpike between the Ohio state line and Valley Forge was I-80S, received its present number in 1964 when I-80S became I-76.Route description
