Melissa Downes is a reporter and presenter with Nine News Queensland and is presenter on weeknights with Andrew Lofthouse.
Melissa originally worked with rival Seven News where she was a reporter and later presenter of Nine Gold Coast News bulletin. She also co-hosted a live 5pm magazine show and was a back-up presenter for the main Seven News service in Queensland.
After joining Nine in 2001, Melissa reported on the road and acted as fill-in presenter of the weekend news before assuming that role full-time in 2006. She is also a reporter with the local show 'Saturday Afternoon'.
In November 2008, Downes was appointed presenter of the weeknight bulletin, replacing Heather Foord.
