Kellie Connolly "(nee Sloane)" is a National Nine News presenter and was an interim co-host of the "Today Show".

Career

Born and raised in South Australia, Kellie first began at ABC Local Radio in 1991 where she was a reporter and newsreader.

She later moved to ABC TV in Adelaide where she was a reporter and Weekend Newsreader. She later joined Ten News as a reporter and fill-in presenter, before moving to Sydney.

Kellie joined the Nine Network in 1997 as a reporter for both A Current Affair and Money. In 1999, Kellie joined A Current Affair as an official reporter, reporting on many different stories on life, health and real life events. Fact|date=December 2007

Kellie became a full time news presenter at the Nine Network after a number of occasionas filling in on the Early News and Nightline. In 2006 she was appointed permanent presenter of "National Nine News Afternoon Edition", replacing Mike Munro.

In April 2007, Kellie moved to co-hosting the "Today Show" working with Karl Stefanovic as the replacement co-host for Jessica Rowe, who was on maternity leave at the time however Rowe announced that she was leaving the Nine Network on May 6 2007.cite web | url = http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story/0,23663,21679187-10229,00.html | title = Rowe quits Today| publisher = News.com.au| accessdate = 2007-05-06]

On the 10 May 2007 episode of "Today", Connolly collapsed on air. She collapsed about 8:10am during a cooking segment with Tobie Puttock, of Jamie Oliver fame. It was reported that she was okay after the incident and Connolly returned to the presenters desk about 15 minutes later, attributing the dizzy spell to her 3am wake-up call [ [http://www.smh.com.au/news/tv--radio/tv-show-host-collapses-on-air/2007/05/10/1178390425988.html?s_cid=rss_smh TV show host collapses on air] "(via smh.com.au) 10 May 2007"] .

Connolly finished up her co-hosting duties for "Today Show" on 25 May 2007 as Lisa Wilkinson took over her hosting duties as of 28 May 2007. It was reported shortly after that she was one of the contenders to have been offered the role of National Nine News co-anchor in Adelaide following the death of Kevin Crease.

On 18 June 2007, Connolly returned as presenter of "National Nine News Afternoon Edition". Later in 2007, she began also presenting "National Nine News Morning Edition".

From January 2008, Connolly was on maternity leave. She reterned to presenting the Morning Edition in September 2008.
