Livinia Helen Nixon (born 19 March, 1975) is an Australian television presenter and actor who has worked on a number of programs appearing on the Nine Network.

Career

After winning a competition to be the co-host of Sale Of The Century for a night and thus gaining her first appearance on television, Livinia appeared in several small roles in telemovies and TV dramas in the mid 1990s. She became much more well-known after a short stint as the host of children's show "Plucka's Place" in 1998 led to a job as co-host of the long-running prime-time variety program "Hey Hey It's Saturday". From 1998, she co-hosted a radio show on TT FM with Ed Phillips. After the cancellation of the show the following year, Nixon had a number of presenting and reporting jobs on the Nine Network, including:

* reporter on the Victorian edition of "Postcards", a show about tourist destinations in Victoria
* reporter/sidekick on "Micallef Tonight", a tonight show hosted by Shaun Micallef

* host of "Bark-Off", a game-show for dogs

* played a reporter in Jimeoin's movie "The Extra"

* fill-in presenter while Kate Langbroek was on maternity leave on Hughesy, Kate & Dave on Nova 100

* current weather presenter for the National Nine News Melbourne bureau.

In 2006 she was a presenter on "Getaway" for a short period, and was co-host of the "Temptation" game show - a re-incarnation of "Sale of the Century". Nixon was also known for her appearances with mayor John So in a tourism promotion campaign for the city of Melbourne entitled "That's Melbourne". The campaign was successful enough to be spun off into a half-hour television show hosted by Nixon. In addition, she hosted "Things To Try Before You Die" with Jules Lund and Gary Sweet.

Education

Nixon was educated at the Lauriston Girls' School, in Melbourne. She then studied drama and completed the double degrees of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts (BCom/BA) at Deakin University, majoring in marketing and Chinese. She completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Science at the University of Melbourne in 2004.

Personal Life

A keen Australian Rules football supporter, Nixon is a supporter of the Richmond Football Club.
