Corriere Canadese is an Italian-language daily newspaper published in Toronto, Canada. Founded in 1954 by Dan Iannuzzi, it is now owned by Multimedia Nova Corporation and published by Italmedia srl. Its target audience is the Italian Canadians. In 1995, it launched Tandem, an English-language weekend edition of Corriere Canadese targeting children of Italian immigrants, since they are more likely to be fluent in English than Italian.[1]
Although there are plans to distribute the newspaper nationally, it is currently distributed only in Ontario and Quebec, primarily the Greater Toronto Area, and in the Greater Montreal area.[1] Future markets include those with large Italian communities, including Ottawa, the Niagara Peninsula, Windsor, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
The newspaper's current editor is Francesco Varonesi.[1] Past editor Angelo Persichilli is the current director of communications in the Canadian Prime Minister's Office.[2]
