History
Sydney's Private Bus Regions were run by a host of small family-owned companies. Some of these companies included Bosinjaks of Edensor Park, Bowman's of St Marys, Calabro's of Bonnyrigg, Leslie's of South Blacktown, Liverpool Transport of West Hoxton, Oliveri's Metrolink Buslines of Green Valley, Hopkinson's Coach Company, Sydney, Nevilles of Casula, North & Western of Gladesville, Parramatta Bus Company of Northmead, Parramatta - Ryde or Trailer Tours of Rydalmere, Toongabbie Transport of Toongabbie, and Western Rd of Prospect. These are only some of the family-owned bus companies that were in Sydney.
On 17 March 2004, the New South Wales Minister for Transport released the final report of Barrie Unsworth's Review of Bus Services in NSW. Before 2005 Sydney's bus operating contracts were cut up into 87 small contract areas. After recommendations from Unsworth's report, the 87 small contract regions were consolidated into 15 larger regions. In 2012 under recommendations from the Unsworth Report the current 15 contract regions will be culled to 8 regions.
Today 2007
