Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London (Traditional Chinese: 香港駐倫敦經濟貿易辦事處) is Hong Kong's representation in the United Kingdom. The current Director General is Sarah Wu, who reports to the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.

The "Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Act 1996" enacted by UK's Parliament [http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts1996/1996063.htm Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Act 1996] ] conferred a number of personal immunity and tax privileges on HKETO London. It was known in the past as the Hong Kong Government Office.

Apart from the UK, HKETO London is also responsible for maintaining ties with the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Other European countries fall within the purview of HKETO Brussels. With the establishment of a new HKETO in Berlin, London ETO will be responsible for and focus on nine countries namely the UK, Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Its premise at 6 Grafton Street also houses the London office of the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the London Representative Office of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
