Background
Mercy was established in Detroit in 1945 by the Sisters of Mercy. The school was first accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools in 1951 and moved to Farmington Hills in 1965. In the time since establishment, over 13,000 students have graduated from the school. Currently the school employs over 100 staff members and provides education for nearly 800 young women.[2]
