It is part of the Wyong Shire local government area. Originally it was the site of Edward Hargraves' property that he purchased after his discovery of payable gold, but it has since developed into a suburb of the Wyong Shire.
As with its neighbouring suburb Toukley, Noraville is made up with a large population of retirees.[1]
