Toowoon Bay is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, located on a peninsula between Tuggerah Lake and the Pacific Ocean south of The Entrance. It is part of the Wyong Shire local government area.

Transport

Toowoon Bay is serviced by The Entrance Red Bus Service with one route to The Entrance. The closest railway station is Tuggerah railway station which is serviced by the Main North railway line and the North Shore Line in peak hours.

Recreation

Toowoon Bay's village centre lies at the intersection of Toowoon Bay Rd and Bay Rd (which is a tourist route to The Entrance). It encompasses a supermarket/general store, bakery, dry cleaners, burger shop, Newsagent/Post Office, surf shop, dess shop, Cafe/restaurant, bottleshop, pharmacy, hairdresser, Doctor, (Graham's) Antique shop, DVD hire, real estate agent and a few other specialty stores.

The Toowoon Bay beach is located at the eastern end of Toowoon Bay Rd with access from Bay Road (250 metres south of the village intersection). The beach is patrolled by Wyong Shire Council Lifeguard's during week days and lifesaver volunteers from the Toowoon Bay SLSC on weekends during summer. The Toowoon Bay SLSC is the centre of activities in Toowoon Bay and has a very strong local following. More recently (2005), the Toowoon Bay SLSC has had a new clubhouse constructed and provides arguably one of the best ocean views on the Central Coast.

The beach is a great place for family swimming as the waves are small and the beach is protected from winds and strong currents. There is also great fishing especially toward Blue Bay. Toowoon Bay was also known previously as Chinamans beach/bay.

The southern entrance to Toowoon Bay provides a left (breaking) wave under certain weather conditions. A similar break, popular with "Mal" riders is also available on the north side (Blue Bay). Toowoon Bay is quite shallow (approx >2M at low tide), however, small fishing boats were at one stage moored in the bay, the original mooring block is still visible underwater in the bay on the north side. Small trailable boats can be launched from the beach however, 4WD is recommended. Sail boarding and Kite Surfing is popular on the bay due to the enclosed nature of the water but good exposure to the wind.

The closest shopping centre's are Stockland Bay Village and Chittaway Shopping Court. Mingara has sporting complex and swimming pool and restaurant and is nearby Tumbi Umbi
