Remake

Mattoru Seetha is a remake of the 1973 Telugu film O Seetha Katha, directed by K. Vishwanath. Later in 1976, K. Balachander remade the same film in Tamil as Moondru Mudichu starring Rajinikanth and Sridevi with Kamal Haasan playing a cameo.^[1][2] Kamal Haasan played the anti hero role in the Malayalam version, which was later played by Rajnikanth in the Tamil version.
