Christopher Eddie Mims (September 29, 1970 – October 15, 2008) was an American football defensive end in the National Football League who played seven seasons for the San Diego Chargers and one season with the Washington Redskins. Mims retired in 2000 after being cut by the Chicago Bears in training camp that same year. Mims was drafted by the Chargers in the first round of the 1992 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Tennessee.

On October 15, 2008, Mims was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment by police officers conducting a welfare check.[1] Cause of death was an enlarged heart. Mims was 456 pounds at the time of his death.

In the 18 October 2010 issue of 'Sports Illustrated',[2] former NFL agent Josh Luchs alleges that he paid Mims 'about $500 a month' during his last year at the University of Tennessee, a serious violation of NCAA eligibility rules if true.
