Time-varying mesh

Time-varying mesh

Time-Varying Mesh (TVM) is composed of a sequence of polygonal mesh models reproducing dynamic 3D scenes. TVM can be generated from synchronized videos captured by multiple cameras in a studio.

In each mesh model (or frame), there are three types of information including vertex positions in Cartesian coordinate system, vertex connection in triangle edges, and the color attached to its corresponding vertex. However, no structure information or explicit corresponding information is available in mesh models. Namely, both the number of vertices and the topology change frame by frame in TVM.

TVM can provide free viewpoint, thus has a potential of many applications such as education, CAD, heritage documentation, broadcasting, and gaming.
