The Miami University Marching Band (MUMB), the marching band of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, was founded in 1935.[1]

The Band
The Miami University Marching Band consists of about 260 members, featuring brass, woodwinds, battery, and a pit percussion section. Baton twirlers, a color guard, and a dance team (called the Shakerettes) also perform with the band.

Traditions
The MUMB performs at all home Miami University football games. Every other year they travel with the football team to the University of Cincinnati. In 2003, the band travelled to New York City to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Marching Band will be returning to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 24, 2011.
