Matthew Arnold School is a comprehensive secondary coeducational school, for pupils aged 11 to 18, with specialist status in science and mathematics. It is located just west of Oxford near Cumnor Hill and Botley and is named after 19th century poet Matthew Arnold.

The school contains around 1,300 students from years 7 to 13. Its 2008 OfSTED Report noted that "Matthew Arnold is a good school with an outstanding sixth form".[1]

In 2008 Matthew Arnold School had its best ever examination results. In GCSE, 81% of its students achieved 5 or more higher (A*-C) grades; 97% of its students achieved 5 or more A*-G grades. In A-Level, 57% achieved A - B grades; 75% A - C grades; 98% A - E grades.
