With over 9,000 students, DBS provides a range of full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with courses for 2010/2011 in subject areas such as business, law, event management, IT, the arts, media studies and psychology. A number of the colleges undergraduate degrees are recognized by the Teaching Council of Ireland for purposes of post primary school teaching.[1]

History
DBS was founded in 1975 and was originally known as Accountancy and Business College.[2] In 1999 Dublin Business School acquired LSB College Dublin.[3] In 2003, DBS was taken over by Kaplan Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Washington Post Company.[4]
In 2006, DBS bought European Business School (EBS), a collective of eight independent business schools located throughout Europe.[5][6]
Famous students
Paul Connolly an international singer/songwriter coming to fame when he composed the FIFA World Cup 2010 Anthem.
Irish personality and Q102 radio presenter Ray Shah attended the school in the graduate year of 2003, just before he auditioned for Big Brother 4.
Campus
The Dublin Business School has six locations around Dublin. Its main campus is located in Aungier Street, and other locations include Balfe Street, Dame Street and South Great George's Street.
Partnership with Lidl
The German chain of supermarkets made an agreement with the Dublin Business School to create a degree oriented to the retail industry. [7][8]
