Plot

A mad descendent (J. Caroll Naish) of the original Dr. Frankenstein takes to murdering young women for experimentation in hopes to revive his ancestor's creation (John Bloom), with help from his mute assistant (Lon Chaney Jr.). Things start to heat up when Dracula (Zandor Vorkov) arrives and promises to revive Frankenstein's monster in return for a serum that will grant him immortality.

Cast

  • Lon Chaney Jr. as Groton (the mute assistant).
  • J. Carroll Naish as Dr. Frankenstein.
  • Zandor Vorkov (Roger Engel) as Count Dracula.
  • John Bloom as Frankenstein's monster.
  • Regina Carrol
  • Russ Tamblyn
  • Forrest J. Ackerman has a small role in the film as 'Dr. Beaumont'.
  • Gary Graver, the future cinematographer for Orson Welles, is an extra in the film.
  • William J. Schell, later an actor, was an uncredited P.A. on this film.

Production

This was Lon Chaney Jr.'s final horror film role and J. Carroll Naish's last film. Chaney filmed his part in mid-1969 when the film was titled Blood Seekers; Naish filmed additional footage in 1970 when Dracula and the Frankenstein Monster were added to the story (and in his confrontation scene with Dracula, he appears noticeably older).[1] Regina Carrol appears in the film as one of the people who discover the two title monsters; in reality, she was married to director Adamson. The film was distributed by Troma Entertainment.[2]
