Student life

Hostels

Most students at CEG reside in hostels. The campus has 13 hostels (Blocks 1 to 11 and other blocks), of which three are exclusively for women. Dining facilities are now provided in four large centralized halls. The hostels may accommodate undergraduate and graduate students.

Cultural and technical symposia

From 2007, the students of CEG conduct an international technology management festival, under the patronage of UNESCO, called Kurukshetra.[9] Students take part in events covering a diverse set of disciplines of engineering, science, technology and management. The Kurukshetra Guest Lecture series is a star-studded affair, with the likes of Nobel Laureates, research scientists from NASA,ISRO etc., and CEOs of top organisations.

Every year in February, CEG plays host to Techofes,[10] a five-day inter-collegiate cultural festival. In October, Agni, the intra-college cultural festival is conducted.

During the months January, February and March, departments of the college conduct technical symposia. Notable among those are

  • Pinnacle, organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering
  • QUANTA, organized by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering
  • Vision, conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
  • Civilization, by the Department of Civil Engineering
