Mount Zion College of Engineering and Technology (MZCET) was established in the year 2001 at Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is being run by the Mount Zion Christian Educational Trust. Mount Zion Christian Educational Trust was started in the year 1988 to provide quality education in the Pudukkottai Region. The Chairman of the trust is Mr.Jayabarathan Chelliah,M.A.(U.S.A).,B.Ed who has over 35 years of experience in heading institutions. He has a masters in Educational Administration from Loma Linda University, U.S.A. The Trust also runs Mount Zion Matriculation Higher Secondary School. It is one of the largest schools in Pudukkottai and has the enviable record of producing the highest number of district toppers in the class X and XII examinations.

The college since its inception has grown in leaps and bounds and is currently one of the best in the region. It strives to make all those who pass through its portals into innovative, hardworking engineers who will be of use to their places of work and to the society at large.

Mount Zion also has the distinction of having secured the highest number of job placements among self-financing engineering colleges in the region. Though young, the college has great plans for the future and the management is determined to transform Mount Zion into one of the best engineering institutions in the world.

Campus

The college is situated in a sprawling 107-acre (0.43 km²) campus in the midst of natural scenic beauty. The buildings are spaced in a manner so that they are surrounded by nature and perfectly spaced and yet easily accessible. The entire area is interspersed with a large number of trees which keep the temperature cool and the area serene.

The main college building and hostels are located inside our 107-acre (0.43 km²) orchard with fresh air and water, away from the polluting city atmosphere. Rice, milk, vegetables, coconuts, etc come from the college farms, fresh and hygienic, raised without pesticides. The sylvan surroundings with tall trees, grassy landscape and pleasant breeze will awaken and stimulate the learner in every student.
