Midland Secondary School
Midland Secondary School is located in the Midland community. Students attend from Midland and surrounding areas including Hillsdale, Port McNicoll, Waubashene, Victoria Harbour, Honey Harbour, and Christian Island. MSS offers a diverse range of open, applied and academic courses in Grade 9 through 12, a Life Skills program and two off-site Alternative Learning Programs, one with a focus on Native culture. All school programs focus on academics, co-curricular, and community involvement.[citation needed] Each semester approximately 175 honour students are recognized.
MSS celebrated its 100th anniversary in May 2004.
Students at Midland Secondary are involved in Student Council initiatives; ambassadors program; international student exchanges; co-curricular programs associated with music, art, and drama; a variety of special interest clubs; and athletics.
